A GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

Our skins come from the south of Chile, as well as Argentina and Australia. The animals are raised exclusively outdoors, which produces an especially thick, long-haired, and silky soft skin. Our specialists select the skins carefully and guarantee compliance with the highest standards at all stages of production. This enables us to produce odourless skins of the highest quality. These are usually shorn in order to achieve the perfect cushioning and softness for your child’s comfort.

The yellow hue of the WERNER CHRIST skin results from the medical tanning process. In our tannery, we use exclusively EU products. We also add a vegetable tanning agent, extracted from the Peruvian tara fruit, to the environmentally safe tanning agent Relugan. Thanks to our unique tanning process, our lambskins are extremely kind to skin, easily washable, and ideal for young children and babies.

Recently, our in-house tannery in Uruguay was awarded the ECO2L (Energy Controlled Leather) label for the third time in a row. The ECO2L label includes the world's first calculation model for determining the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions of a tannery and was developed as an active contribution to climate protection. The ECO2L certificate is awarded by the independent organization Leder- und Kunststoffbahnen GmbH (FILK). The auditing is carried out on behalf of FILK by independent and officially appointed auditors. WERNER CHRIST's own tannery has achieved its goal of CO2-neutral tanning by using its own wood-chip heating system to generate energy, as well as reforesting trees and using solar energy.
