WE HAVE COLLECTED AND ANSWERED SOME OF YOUR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS

WASHING AND CARE
DO I HAVE TO WASCH MY FOOTMUFF OR SHEEPSKIN PRODUCT BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME?
No. In principle, all our products can be used immediately after purchase. Our sheepskin products come ready to use from our in-house tannery.

We recommend not washing our sheepskin products (whether footmuffs or inserts) before first use, as they are sold ready for use after a thorough quality check. For all WERNER CHRIST BABY products, we only use fabrics that are subject to the Ökotex-Regulation. Due to its fibre structure, sheepskin is self cleaning and should only be washed if it's substantially dirty. Otherwise, airing or combing with a sheepskin brush is sufficient to remove light dirt.

However, if the sheepskin gets dirty after prolonged use, you can wash it in the washing machine with special sheepskin detergent (find our care products here). We recommend drying the sheepskin in the tumble dryer afterwards, then fur side will be nice and fluffy again. You can find our washing and care instructions here.

Please note that we cannot accept washed products as returns.

SHEEPSKIN IN THE SUMMER
ARE SHEEPSKIN PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR THE SUMMER?
Yes. Sheepskins are suitable to use in the winter as well as in the summer.

Sheepskins are breathable and temperature-regulating, allowing moisture to be dispersed and heat to be balanced out. Sheepskin has a natural air cushion due to the structure of the fibres, which allows air to circulate. This ensures a regular exchange of air and prevents hot air from building up. In addition, sheepskin can absorb a certain amount of moisture without it feeling damp. This means that your child stays dry for longer than with products made of synthetic fibres.

SHEEPSKIN ODOUR
MY SHEEPSKIN HAS A WEIRD ODOUR. WHAT CAN I DO?
WERNER CHRIST BABY attaches great importance to the manufacturing of odourless sheepskin products.

To ensure that the sheepskin does not have an unpleasant odour, the animal fats are removed in our in-house tannery to produce a very low-odour or odourless sheepskin. After tanning, the sheepskins are washed again in the barrel with clear water. As the process is carried out by hand and this is a natural product, the odour can vary from sheepskin to sheepskin. However, an unpleasant odour should not be noticeable.

If you notice an unpleasant odour, you can air the sheepskin for 24-48 hours. If the problem persists, you are welcome to contact our customer service.

FLUFF ON THE SHEEPSKIN
THE SHEEPSKIN ON MY PRODUCT IS SHEDDING, IS THAT NORMAL?
This shouldn't really happen, but it can still rarely be the case. A quick solution is to put the product in the tumble dryer to remove the loose fluff.

Cutting fur during production can result in cut hairs. These are normally removed thoroughly during production. However, in rare cases, it can happen that some cut hairs in the seams cannot be completely removed and the fur therefore fluffs.

To solve this problem, you can put the footmuff or sheepskin product in the tumble dryer, which will remove all the small hairs or fluff. If this problem persists, please contact our customer service team.
